The Great Sand Hills


Travel with SOEEA and special guests to visit this amazing part of Saskatchewan: Branimir Gjetvaj (photographer for The Great Sand Hills: A Prairie Oasis), Eleanor Bowie (Sand Hills District Commission), a ranch tour, cowboy poetry and MUCH more! The food promises to be fabulous and is all served in local (iconic)
venues (vegetarian options available). Engaging tour guides are
traveling with us to provide excellent interpretation. Camping options
are provided.

The Great Sand Hills of south western Saskatchewan is a little known ecological treasure. One of the largest remaining areas of native prairie left in the province, it is a home to many endangered and rare species, and species unique to sand dune ecosystem. The Great Sand Hills have been identified as one of five Natural Areas of Canadian significance in Saskatchewan.

The all-inclusive price (based on double occupancy Hotel/Motel) is $200 for SOEEA members, $210 for nonmembers; Children Under 12 are $150. Additionally SOEEA is offering a camping option for $150. We will be leaving from Swift Current at 5pm and returning to the same on Sunday (travel to and from Swift Current is your responsibility - car pooling is recommended and we can help you find car possibilities).
