Sally Fallon: Dirty Secrets of the Modern Food Processing Industry (Regina)

Hello All:

Just want to give you the heads up on hearing a great speaker who really

gets to the heart of why organic, local food is a good for everyone.

Sally Fallon will be giving a lecture entitled "Dirty Secrets of the

Modern Food Processing Industry"  Thursday night at 7:30 p.m. at Thom

Collegiate, 265 Argyle St., Regina.  Admission is by donation to

Earthcare Connections

Then, from Friday supper until Sunday lunch, Sally will be at Calling

Lakes Centre in Fort Qu'Appelle, giving an extensive seminar on

nutrition and health.  Cost (which includes local, mostly organic food

AND lodging) is $260 per person or $480 for a couple, $500 for a

family.  (CASS funding may cover the costs - we have an application

in.)  We can take a few last minute people.

Sally will be interviewed on CTV on Friday at noon, and will be a

phone-in show guest on Blue Sky from 1:30 - 2:00 p.m. on Friday.

She may help to verify or amend your idea of what constitutes good

nutrition (i.e. you will hear that animal fat is GOOD for you,

cholesterol is not actually linked to heart disease, raw milk should be

available to all who want it,  whole food is vital to a healthy diet and

immune system).  Her work is very well researched and quite contrary to

most of what you hear about nutrition in the media.
