Celebrating the diversity of the seed!

This year will have Gardening and Seed Workshops, Seed Exchange (*new), Local Food Security Initiatives, Children's Story Hour, Food Preservation Demonstrations, Local Food Producers, and Seed Seller.

Workshops - Soils and Starting Seeds with Kevin Young, Urban Food Production with Marcus Storey, Growing and Saving Seeds with Jim Ternier, and Ask the experts.  Also throughout the afternoon:  Food Drying Demonstration with Bilkies McKen.

Date:  Saturday February 25, 2012

Time: 1:00-4:30pm

Where:  Dr. Brass School Gymnasium, 19 Darlington Street West, Yorkton, SK.

Admission:  Non-perishable food item to be donated to local food bank.

What: "Regina Seedy Saturday: open-pollinated garden vegetables and flower seeds", featuring seed for sale by prairie-based seed companies Prairie Garden Seeds (Sask), Heritage Harvest Seed (Manitoba), and Heliotrope Farms (Sask). Many other non-profit organizations and local businesses will be in attendance.

People are encouraged to bring their open-pollinated garden seeds to trade at our community garden seed exchange table. Also, gardeners are invited to bring their unwanted gardening magazines and books for our gardener's swap table.
Eat Healthy Foods organic grocery store will have lunch and snacks available for purchase.

When: March 3, 2012, 10am - 2pm
