The Wiseman Mathematics Contest is an annual project. The purpose of Wiseman Mathematics Contests is to motivate young students of First Nations schools for learning Mathematics in competitive environment. This is the first mathematics contest in North America developed for aboriginal students.

The purpose of Wiseman Mathematics Contests is to motivate young students of First Nations schools for learning Mathematics in competitive environment.

This is the first mathematics contest in North America developed for aboriginal students. Our project is addressed to grade 4 and 5 students of First Nations schools.

For better preparation of students we publish the preparatory materials in The Native Journal.

Project sponsors/funders: 

Our project is addressed to grade 4 and 5 students of First Nations schools. The cycle 2007/2008 was sponsored by The Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority (SIGA). Since 2008 The Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) has been supporting The
Wiseman Mathematics Contest within the PromoScience program. The cycle 2008/2009 was sponsored also by SIGA and SaskEnergy.
