On December 9, 2009 from noon til 4PM, Hollyhock Market Natural Foods in Mortlach will be sponsoring their first Terra Madre Day Celebration (Eat Local Day). Terra Madre is an offshoot of the international Slowfood.com, and to our knowledge, we are the only Saskatchewan event registered to date. Tickets for the event are $12 at the door (or by pre-registration at 355-2201) and will include 4 tokens that can be used towards the different food stations. Extra tokens will be available for purchase. We have invited a number of our producers to attend;  they will be discussing
aspects of their operation as well as perhaps having food samples and products available for sale.
Hollyhock Market is a new natural foods market committed to supporting local producers as much as possible, and to helping consumers make informed choices about where their food originates.
We would love it if you would pass this email and information along to anyone in your network who might be interested in the concept of a "Local Food Day".
