RCE Saskatchewan Facilitation Group Meeting October 20, 2011, 3:00 p.m.

Dear RCE Saskatchewan Facilitation Group Members, Working Group Coordinators, and Partners,

On Thursday, October 20, 2011, from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m., there will be a meeting of the RCE Facilitation Group including working group coordinators and RCE Saskatchewan partners (as well as others who would like to attend). This meeting is to provide an update regarding a number of exciting RCE opportunities as well as to discuss upcoming RCE events and activities. These include:

1) RCE Saskatchewan's participation in the upcoming 6th International RCE Conference in the Netherlands (November 20-23, 2011). See: http://www.rcerm.eu/Welcome.html

2) RCE Saskatchewan visits to RCE Venice, RCE Graz (Austria), and RCE Vienna in November leading up to the International Conference

3) A visit by the Coordinator of RCE Greater Western Sydney (Australia) Professor Geoff Scott to RCE Saskatchewan in January 2012; Professor Scott is also a Professor at the University of Western Sydney with expertise in the area of Higher Education and sustainability

4) RCE Saskatchewan Education for Sustainable Development Recognition Event in 2012

5) Sustainability and Education Academy (SEdA) update

The meeting will also provide an opportunity to share updates regarding sustainability activities and initiatives of RCE Saskatchewan partners and within the theme areas of the RCE. A general discussion time to discuss future directions of the RCE will also be provided. A recent update of RCE Saskatchewan activities to ESD Canada is attached.

For those able to attend in person, the meeting will take place at Luther College at the University of Regina starting at 3:00 p.m. in Room 110 (the boardroom in the Student Services area). There is also an opportunity to participate by calling in to the meeting. Please call  (306) 337-2459 at the start of the meeting to participate in this way. If possible, let us know by e-mail ahead of time that you will be calling in.
