Please be advised that a schedule for the retention of ResearchNet data will be implemented as follows, effective December 10th, 2011:  

 

* All submitted application activities and documents will be retained for one year after the application decision has been released. 

 

* All withdrawn applications will be retained for one year after decisions for the competition have been posted. 

 

* All incomplete and non-submitted applications will be retained for three months after the competition deadline date. 

 

* All review activities and documents will be retained for eighteen months after the decisions for the application have been posted. 

 

* All decision and post-decisions activities and documents will be retained for eighteen months after the related application decisions.  

 

Information on the Retention Schedule will be permanently available on the ResearchNet homepage. Should users of ResearchNet wish to keep any documents for future reference, we suggest that they download the PDF (Portable Document Format) of the documents to another storage area (e.g., the hard drive of a personal computer). 

 

Feel free to disseminate this information to your researchers through your internal channels.

~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * 3) Shastri Indo-Canadian Institute: Funding Opportunities   a) Pro-Development Initiative Grant (PDIG)

The Shastri Indo-Canadian Institute is pleased to invite applications from its Canadian and Indian member Institutions for the PDIG project. The objective of the PDIG project is twofold:

1) to reinforce the Institute’s support to the development priorities concerning India

2) to encourage and support the member institutions making a bridge between international development priorities and their academic interests.

Grants to a maximum of $10,000 CAD will be available for each PDIG project initiative, to be completed within three months (January – March 2012).

b) Lal Bahadur Shastri Student Prize

The Shastri Indo-Canadian Institute is happy to announce that we are currently accepting applications for the Lal Bahadur Shastri Student Prize. This is a prize for best papers by Canadian Students on India in Canada. Entries are invited on any topic with specific relevance to India including economics, environment, history, law, literature, politics, philosophy, social studies, humanities, science or women’s studies. Submissions from graduate and undergraduate students are welcome. This year we will be conducting a separate competition for French submissions. We will be awarding three prizes:

· Best Undergraduate Paper

· Best Graduate Paper

· Best French Paper
