Graduate Student, Postdoctoral Fellow, and Project Manager Recruitment

Sustainability Education Research 

The University of Saskatchewan in conjunction with partner institutions and organizations is now recruiting four Master’s students and and five Doctoral students, one Postdoctoral Fellow, and one Project Manager to join a national research team studying sustainability policy and practice in K-12 and post-secondary education in Canada. Additional graduate students and fellows will be recruited in subsequent years.

Graduate Students: Master’s and Doctoral students are being recruited to focus their thesis research on document and data set analysis of sustainability policy in K-12 or post-secondary education in Canada. Several students are also being recruited to work on the development and administration of a national survey on sustainability policy and practice in K-12 and post-secondary education. Some students will be paired to work closely with partner organizations including the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives, the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education, and the David Suzuki Foundation. Graduate student researchers will receive stipends of $15,000 (Master’s) and $18,000 (PhD) plus benefits, for two years of Master’s study and three years of PhD study. Postdoctoral Fellows: A Postdoctoral Fellow is being recruited for 2012-2014 to take a lead role in document and data set analysis of sustainability policy in K-12 and post-secondary education in Canada. The fellow will be based at the University of Saskatchewan, with a salary of $35,000-48,000/year plus benefits, depending on level of experience. Applicants should have a Doctoral degree in Policy Studies, Educational Studies, or a related field, and preferably experience doing critical policy analysis research. Project Manager: A Project Manager is being recruited for the duration of the six year project to be housed at the University of Saskatchewan. The Project Manager will organize project meetings, arrange for data collection site visits and other travel, oversee media communications, manage the financial aspects of the project, and otherwise coordinate activities of the research project. The Project Manager will be instrumental in facilitating connection and collaboration among research team members.
