Canadian Commission for UNESCO Youth Video Project

We are looking for youth to help create and be part of a video about being a youth in Saskatchewan. The video is being funded by the Canadian Commission for UNESCO and filmed by the Saskatchewan Film Pool. Filming has been set for February 4th and 5th. The theme of the video is "Do you see what I think".

How you can help us?

We have created 8 statements to fit with the theme of the video. We are looking for youth (under the age of 30) to help us depict the youth experience in Saskatchewan. Please read the statements below and pick two or three that stand out to you and submit them to me. Think of a location or place in and around Regina that might fit with your statement and we will come film you saying your statement! You will have a hand in creating part of the video! You are welcome to do this in pairs, or other multiples or by yourself.... whatever is most comfortable and most fun!

Statements:

  • I am creating a world where...
  • I want my world to be...
  • I want my future to be...
  • My world is...
  • I am/will make a difference by...
  • I want my voice to be heard because...
  • My opinions are important because...
  • Young people matter because...

We may also be needing a few extra bodies to be part of a group tobogganing scene being filmed on Saturday, February 5th. Let me know if would be interested in that as well!

The videos are being created as part of the Youth Advisory Group for the Canadian Commission for UNESCO. Each province is creating their own. Since it is the United Nation's Year of Youth, the videos will be showcased at several events throughout Canada. It would be wonderful to have you take part!

Please forward on to any youth that might be interested. If you have any questions, comments or require more information, please contact me by email at kathleen.d.wilson@gmail.com or by phone at 537 4114.
